今天忽然撞到了这个。Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven的歌词翻译。说实话，绿豆翻译得不错，虽然我还能挑出毛病来，但给我翻译未必会更好。而且人家都说了“歌词是没法翻译的”。——是啊，比如说”To be a rock and not to roll”你怎么译？绿豆说”去变成一块石头但不要滚动“, 怎么看都像个笑话，可是还能怎么翻译呢？”去做一块石头而且再也不摇滚“吗？还是像个笑话。
算了，陷在翻译的泥潭里是很愚蠢的。为什么还要翻译呢？因为歌词是英语，听不懂。可是翻译过来就能听懂了吗？比如这首，不用说你我了，说英语的外国人也不懂。正如Cecil Adams说的，和量子力学受海森堡不确定性原理支配一样，摇滚歌词也是受类似的原理支配的。我们没法得到确定的答案，只能揣摩到一些不确定的信息。

这首歌没有任何含义。这首歌作成于1971年，延续60年代的摇滚风格，很多歌曲都不一定真有什么含义，比如Led Zeppelin专辑里还有这样的歌词“Hey, hey, baby, when you walk that way, watch your honey drip, can’t keep away. / Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah. Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah, ah, ah.” 囧rz. 当然，以我们拥有的几个毫莎（测量单位: 1莎(莎士比亚) = 1000毫莎）的诗情去读这首歌的歌词，觉得这首歌有些深刻含义，也是可以理解的。

最近听的歌
最近在听两张专辑。
一张是Coldplay的Viva La Vida。土豆里边这部专辑的收听率和好评程度都比较高，不过这种“很硬的软摇滚”却不是我喜欢的类型。里边又一首歌叫《42》，让人不由得怀疑这个乐队还是DNA（Douglas Adams）的粉丝呢。然而这首歌里边没看到任何DNA的影子。也许歌词里边的”You didn’t get to heaven but you made it close”是在暗指DNA吧。DNA是无神论者，当然没法去天堂了，但他留下的meme会永远活在我们中间。
另外一张是Disturbed的Indestructable。其实我也从来不是金属党，甚至不是摇滚党，只不过好多自己喜欢的歌是重金属或者摇滚罢了。好像以前一个学校的调查发现IQ比较高的学生更倾向与听重金属，原因是他们想的东西多，更需要发泄。
